Major Requirements
In addition to general education, students must complete 27 hours of core courses, 12 hours of Legal Assistant Studies Courses, and 12 hours of supporting courses (in addition to meeting other graduation requirements).
Legal Assistant Studies Core Courses (27 hours) including: LAS 101, 210, 235, 360, 390, 435, 470, 471
Legal Assistant Studies Concentration -- Related Courses
- 12 hours from Legal Assistant Studies: 199r, 220, 225, 230, 240, 245, 250, 300, 350, 400, 410, 420, 425,
497r, 498r, 499 with at least 6 hours at the 300-400 level; and
- 12 hours from the following courses with at least 6 hours at the 300-400 level and no more than six hours from any one discipline:
- Political Science 221, 321, 322, 323, 421;
- Criminal Justice 325, 400, 406, 430, 460;
- Social Work 305;
- Business Accounting 201, 202, 307, 335, 336
- Finance 372;
- English 277;
- Environmental Sciences 410;
- Philosophy 425; and
- Computer Science 110
- 2.0 average overall, 2.0 UTC average and 2.5 average in Legal Assistant Studies courses.
- Minimum of 15 hours LAS courses at UTC.
- Minimum of 42 hours of 300 and 400 level courses.
- Completion of Writing, Oral Communication and Computer Literacy Requirements (see general education requirments)
