     The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA, Public Law 101-476), was originally named The Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EHA, Public Law Law 94-142).  This federal law guarantees a free, appropriate public education and protests the rights of students with disabilities.  Each and every step in planning and monitoring your child’s educational program is protected by this law including:
