Each spring, the Chemistry Department honors our majors at the annual Awards Banquet. This 19 year traditition tops off the year by recognizing student excellence. Student achievements are recognized and over $50,000 in scholarships are awarded.
This year's banquet was held April 13, 2007 in the Tennessee Room of the University Center. Some of the awards included:
Outstanding Laboratory Teaching Assistants: Keely O'brien and
Sean Rogers - Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry: Scott Kindelberger
- Undergraduate Award in Polymer and Organic Chemistry: Caitlin Redman
- Hypercube Scholar: Christina Wells
- American Chemical Society Award: Bradley McKeown
- Higdon Textbook Awards: Amirtha Dileepan, Sean Dunn, Jessica Ezell, Steven Ledford, German Morera , Caitlin Redman and Ivan Zubkov
- Student Affiliates Service Award: Melanie Siv and Kevin Terry
- Swan Award (outstanding freshman): Robert (Trip) Dacus and Sean Dunn
- Edwards Awards: Rishi Naik (outstanding sophomore), Sarah Easparam (outstanding junior) and Ivan Zubkov (outstanding junior)
- Gross Award (outstanding seniors): Maikel Botros
