Advisement

Adult students, regardless of the number of hours completed, may come into the Adult Services Center for advisement.  During advisement, the adviser will review the student's RAP sheet, check sheet, UTC transcript, etc., and assist the student in deciding which classes to take the following semester, help make plans for future semesters, and respond to questions or concerns the student may have.  Following the advisement session, the adviser will give the student his or her advisement code so that the student will be able to enroll in classes online.

All students, regardless of age or number of hours completed toward a degree, must be advised in their major departement if they have the following majors:

  • Art
  • American Studies
  • Any student athlete
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Communications
  • Computer Science
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Science
  • Humanities
  • Human Ecology
  • Medical Technology
  • Music
  • Nursing and Pre-Nursing
  • Physical Therapy and Pre-Physical Therapy
  • Pre-Medical
  • Pre-Dental
  • Pre-Veterinary
  • Theatre

Students in these majors should contact their major departments to set up advisement appointments.

Advisement for the Spring and Summer 2008 semesters begins October 29 with priority registration beginning November 5.  Appointments are not necessary.
