Project Schedule:
The faculty development program begins with a totally online experience that spans six weeks. This program allows you to see what it feels like to be an online student and to also experience several Blackboard features that you might be unfamiliar with. Even if you are out of town, you'll be able to access and participate in the class as it is offered totally online. The time required for each participant is about 2-3 hours per week.

After the online experience, the Online Faculty Fellows will receive specific training on best practices for teaching online and how to create their own online courses. The faculty training will be delivered in a hybrid fashion (face-to-face and online) and the fellows and Walker Teaching Resource Center personnel will collaborate to create a schedule that is appropriate for the specific needs of the selected faculty group.

Program deliverable to receive payment:

Specific deadlines will be developed by the faculty as a part of the faculty development training sessions.
  • Revise course modules as indicated through assessment and evaluation (self and peer) ($1000 stipend upon completion of completed course).

Both UTC and the faculty will own equally all electronic materials developed for the class as developed as a part of this project. This ownership gives you the right to update, edit and revise the instructional materials and modules developed. By co-owning, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga also has the right to revise, edit, update and distribute the instructional modules and materials in courses offered online at any time in the future.
