The College of Business Administration at UTC is pleased to announce
a significant gift that establishes the Frank Varallo Professorship
in Business Administration, which will provide additional funding
in support of excellence in teaching and research in business
administration. Dr. Valerie Taylor, a faculty member of the Marketing
and Entrepreneurship Department, was named the inaugural holder
of the Frank Varallo Professorship.
"We are proud to appoint Dr. Valerie A. Taylor as the new
Frank Varallo
Professor of Marketing. The appointment is in recognition of Dr.
Taylor's
ability as a teacher and researcher. Business students praise her
classroom
skills and practitioners from around the world have inquired as
to her
research," said Dr. Richard Casavant, Dean and John Stagmaier
Chair of Business Administration.
Taylor’s research interests include product branding strategies,
consumer information processing, and health communication issues.
Her research has been published in the Journal of the Academy of
Marketing Science, Psychology & Marketing, and the Journal
of Brand Management, among other marketing journals. She has also
held positions in the telecommunications industry.
Frank Varallo, owner of Rone Regency Jewelers, established the
professorship.
Currently serving as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board,
Varallo is a strong supporter of UTC’s College of Business
Administration, according to Casavant.
“Mr. Varallo's establishment of the Varallo Professorship
brings increased recognition to a talented faculty member of UTC's
College
of Business,” Casavant said.
