Communication Week Ends with a Big, Gooey Bite:
"Pizza with the Pros" Enjoyed by All
"Working for a More Diverse Media: Media Professionals Speak
Out" and "Is Conglomeration Killing Radio? Music Monopoly,
and the Future of U.S. Radio" were two topics of discussion
recently when the UTC Communication Department faculty held a week
of activities for students. The week culminated with the annual
"Pizza With the Pros," a popular event that draws students
who join local communication professionals for a free lunch, sponsored
and hosted by Dr. Peter Pringle, the Luther Masingill Professor
of Communication. "The students had a chance to meet a variety
of people in the media from on-air personalities to public relations
representatives for a varied perspective. From the professionals’
point of view, it is always refreshing to meet these young people
to find out what their interests are, and help them to fulfill their
career goals," according to WRCB news anchor David Carroll.
