UTC
Kicks Off United Way 2003 Campaign
With the efforts of faculty,
staff and students of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the
institution will reach its goal of $100,000 dollars to support the annual
Greater Chattanooga Area United Way 2003 Campaign.
In 2002, UTC was one of two local institutions to receive the Company
of the Year Community Award from the United Way of Greater Chattanooga,
because UTC “consistently rises to the occasion, posting one increase
after another each campaign year,” according to a United Way publication.
“The UTC contribution directly benefits our campus colleagues and
their families as 188 faculty and staff members and their relatives were
served
last year by United Way agencies, utilizing $129,782.76 in services.
Because of its scope and the magnitude of its positive impact, the United
Way Campaign is the only external community philanthropic campaign for
which all faculty and staff are contacted,” according to Chancellor
Bill Stacy.
This year’s campaign team includes Richard Brown, Employee Campaign
Manager, with Dr. Marvin Ernst, Chair of the Faculty Senate; Debra Anderson,
Chair of Exempt Staff Council; and Julia Cronin, Chair of Employee Relations
Council serving as campaign co-chairs.
“Please consider your support of this noble cause and give with
your heart to the United Way this year. By contributing to this non-profit
organization,
you have a unique chance not only to assist individuals in changing their
lives, but also to help build a better community for all of us,” Stacy
said.
