Commencement, Final Exams, and… Yes, It's Time
for Spring Registration!
Congratulations to our December graduates. Questions
about commencement? The Records and Registration Office has answers. Fall commencement
will be held Sunday, December 14, at 2 p.m. in McKenzie Arena.
As the
end of the semester draws near, we are thankful for a few free days
to
visit
with family and friends.
- The University will close Thanksgiving Day and
Friday, November 28.
- The Lupton Library will be open Wednesday, November
26 from 7:50 a.m.-5 p.m., and it will be closed Thanksgiving Day-Saturday,
November 29. On Sunday, November 30, the library resumes regular hours,
and will be open Sunday from 2 p.m.-midnight.
It is hard to believe, but…
- The last day of classes is Monday, December
1.
- Reading Day is Tuesday, December 2.
- The Fall 2003 Final Exam schedule
begins Wednesday, December 3 and ends Tuesday, December 9. Make study
plans now by checking the Fall
Exam Schedule online.
- Fall commencement
will be held Sunday, December 14, at 2 p.m. in McKenzie Arena.
Looking ahead to Spring 2004 Semester, current students may register
online with
an advisement code or in person through the Records & Registration
Office, Adult Services, or the Graduate School with a signed drop/add
form. For more information on how to register, see the Q&As
below.
Remember to confirm or pay fees by December 15,
or your classes will be cancelled and you will have to re-register.
There
is
no guarantee
that your original courses will be available.

If you are still looking for something different, these new
classes are being offered in the spring:
Anthropology 412: Forensic Anthropology This course
will resume its Fall and Spring offering, as indicated by the catalog.
It is an ideal elective
for biology, chemistry, physical therapy, and pre-professional health
fields, to name a few. Instructor: Tom Bodkin
EHLS 199, section 001: Beginning Ultimate Frisbee This
one-hour credit course will introduce students to the sport of Ultimate
Frisbee. Fundamentals
and rules of the game will be emphasized. This course can fill the
general education requirement as a physical activity.

Political Science 421r: Special Topics in Public Law The
First Amendment his course is an in-depth study of the issues and
case law involving
the
First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, including free speech, freedom
of the press, religious freedom and freedom of assembly and petition.
Instructor: Dr. John Friedl, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
Communication 400, Section 002: Radio and Popular Music Radio and
the phonograph emerged at roughly the same time at the turn of the last century.
The result
was a revolution in popular culture. That revolution will be the focus of
this course which will examine the symbiotic relationship between radio and
popular
music. The course will look at both the evolution of American popular music

Spring 2004 Registration Q&As
Priority registration began on Monday, November 3,
2003. You should have received you registration appointment time, RAP
sheet, and notification of holds via your OneNet account. If you haven't
registered, check out the questions below and make preparations to
register for next semester.
How do I get ready to register?
- View and print your RAP sheet to determine possible courses for
next semester.
- Make an appointment with your faculty adviser prior
to your
registration appointment time.
- Access the Course Timetable via
the web and have a plan before you meet with your adviser.
What if I have holds?
- You must clear your holds before you will be able to register.
- If
you have an Advisement hold, you must complete the drop/add form and
have it signed in the Advisement Office, 258 Hooper Hall.
How do I register?
- On-line with your advisement code
- In person (Records & Registration
Office, Adult Services, Graduate School) with a signed
drop/add form
How do I change course sections?
- You may change sections on line and do not need an advisement
code.
When are fees due?
- You must confirm or pay fees by December 15, 2003.
What if I don't pay fees by December 15th?
- Your classes will be cancelled and you will have to re-register.
