UTC Student Artists to Exhibit at Hunter

Eleven UTC students will have their handmade books on display in a temporary/ contemporary exhibit at the Hunter Museum of American Art. The exhibit will be available for viewing until Monday, May 19.

The books were created in a class taught this semester by Stephen LeWinter, UTC Professor of Art.

"The intent was to introduce the participants to the possibilities of using the book as a printed art form with emphasis placed on experimentation with a wide range of media and styles to create handmade books. Printmaking techniques such as collograph, relief and photo - lithography were utilized. The result was the creative exploration of the handmade book," LeWinter said.
