Business Dean Announces Resignation Linda Fletcher, dean of the College of Business Adminstration at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, has announced her intention to resign her post effective July 31, 2000. "When UTC offered me the position of dean of the College of Business Administration, I accepted it with an ambitious agenda in mind," Fletcher said. "I knew that the superb faculty of the College would be able to fulfill our collectively established objectives, no matter how challenging."
"Dr. Fletcher's accomplishments are just remarkable and her leadership of our College of Business Administration has helped position the program among the best," said UTC Chancellor Bill Stacy. "I am pleased that she wishes to remain a loyal part of our UTC family, and I expect continued success in her new role." Fletcher will complete the 1999-2000 academic year as dean and plans to return to campus in a faculty position. She joined the UTC staff as dean in 1991, having previously served as head of the West Chester State University business school. "We are very grateful for all of Linda's efforts on behalf of our students and the College of Business Administration," said UTC Provost Bill Berry. "She has put the College in an extremely strong position with productive community partnerships, an effective curriculum, and an excellent faculty." A search for a new dean will be underway soon. |
