GEAR UP quiz bowl coming to UTC
Through the GEAR UP program, Dr. Hunter Huckabay will be bringing students from Orchard Knob, Franklin & Chattanooga Middle Schools to the UTC campus for a showdown quiz game called the GEAR UP Black History Month Bowl.
The event will be held on Tuesday, March 6 Tuesday March 6 from 3:30 - 5:00, in the UTC University Center, Chattanooga Room A. For weeks, the students have been preparing for the event in the GEAR UP after-school program at their schools. A preliminary round was held at these schools to determine each school's representative in the bowl, according to Huckabay.
Next Tuesday will feature the winner from each school squaring off in a school rivalry.
"We have Eric 'The Voice' Foster, a popular DJ with Power 94, coming to emcee the event," Huckabay says.
