The UTC Music Department presents Octubafest II, a Tuba/Euphonium Studio Recital with guest artist – Kelly Thomas will be held  Tuesday, October 14, 7:30 pm, Roland Hayes Concert Hall, UTC Fine Arts Center (corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets), UTC Music Department.

Thomas is the tuba/euphonium instructor and director of pep bands at the University of Arizona. He will present a diverse program of contemporary pieces–many adapted for performance on tuba and/or euphonium.  For further information contact the UTC Music Dept. Office, (423)425-4601.

World-class saxophonist Jeff Coffin (of Bela Fleck and Flecktones) and his band Mu’tet will present a demonstration/masterclass for the UTC Jazz band in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in UTC Fine Arts Center (corner of Palmetto and Vine St.) on Thursday, October 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m., The session will be held in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall of the UTC Fine Arts Center and is free of charge and open to the public.  Bela Fleck percussionist Futureman will also participate in the class.  For more information contact the UTC Music Dept.
