Travel
The UHON Program believes in the importance of appreciating other
cultures and broadening each student's personal and academic experience
through travel. To help students accomplish this kind
of invaluable intellectual experience, we offer
several avenues of financial assistance:
- Any UHON scholarship may be applied to a semester or year abroad
program or National Student Exchange approved through the Office
of International Education. Recently, UHON students have used their
scholarships to study in Egypt, Ghana, England, France, Spain, Sweden, and the Czech Republic.
- Special Odyssey Scholarships are available
through the UHON Program to selected UHON students who plan off-campus
study and present financial need beyond their current scholarship
funding.
- Each year the UHON Program sponsors a cultural trip to an international
destination in conjunction with a one credit hour seminar
in fine arts. About 25 students study the history, art and/or
music of the destination culture. About half the cost of
each student's travel is subsidized by
the UHON Program.
