Travel

The UHON Program believes in the importance of appreciating other cultures and broadening each student's personal and academic experience through travel. To help students accomplish this kind of invaluable intellectual experience, we offer several avenues of financial assistance:

  • Any UHON scholarship may be applied to a semester or year abroad program or National Student Exchange approved through the Office of International Education. Recently, UHON students have used their scholarships to study in Egypt, Ghana, England, France, Spain, Sweden, and the Czech Republic.

  • Special Odyssey Scholarships are available through the UHON Program to selected UHON students who plan off-campus study and present financial need beyond their current scholarship funding.

  • Each year the UHON Program sponsors a cultural trip to an international destination in conjunction with a one credit hour seminar in fine arts. About 25 students study the history, art and/or music of the destination culture. About half the cost of each student's travel is subsidized by the UHON Program.
