The SSS Participant Study Plan
- Make a weekly schedule of how you will spend your time. Include time for studying, meals, personal care, recreation, work--everything you are committed to doing to create a well-rounded life.
- Your professors expect you to study 2-3 hours for every hour you spend in class. Study 25-35 hours/week.
- A good study strategy is to study for 45 minutes, then take a 15-minute break.
- Plan what you want to accomplish before you begin.
- If you are having a hard time starting a project, promise yourself to work on it for at least 30 minutes. Sometimes just getting over the initial mental block makes the whole project go more smoothly.
- Keep up with your school work. Do not cram for exams!
- Before exams, meet with a few classmates to study together.
- If you do not draw up a study schedule, you will end up wasting time. Put your schedule where you will see it every day. This will remind you what you need to do every day. Only you can hold yourself accountable for preparing for your classes!
Announcement 2:
Fall 2006 registration is from April 3rd through April 13th. Mrs Gholston will advise students who are unable to schedule an appointment with their assigned adviser.

Messages from our participants in Africa:
Hello Mrs. Gholston I just wanted to let you know that Chareva and I have made it to South Africa safely. Thank you for helping to send us on this trip, because it is beautiful here. Outside of my dorm window lives monkeys and I can also see the sun set and rise. The climate will take some getting used to, but besides that I love it. I have already experienced the club life, it was okay. There ways are diferent, but different is good in some ways. Tell everyone that everything is great and I miss them. I will write again when I am able to get a chance.
Miss you,
KeyannaAfrica is great!!!! I am having so much fun touring the town but were actually just getting started. Classes dont begin until the 13th. There are so many differences. For example, taxis are called Kombes and there are 12 people to a kombe and the charge is R3,50. R is Rand. The flight was 19hours. I stay in a dorm with 15 students per floor. But I will continue to keep you all informed.
Peace love n hair grease,
Chareva
