Provost's Scholars Program
UTC is pleased to present the Provost's Scholars Program for First-Time Freshmen applicants who meet the following criteria:
3.5 GPA and 26 ACT composite (1190 SAT) will receive $7,000 which includes Tennessee HOPE lottery funds.
First-Time Freshmen are encouraged to apply with UTC Admissions when their 2013-2014 application is available August 15, 2012. The next step is to apply for scholarships within 3-5 days of their acceptance by UTC Admissions. Both applications are required for candidates to be considered for a scholarship. Since funding is limited, priority will be given to students who have a completed UTC Admissions file (application, $30 application fee, high school transcript, and ACT/SAT score) by December 1, 2012. Students' qualifying test scores/GPA must also be submitted to UTC Admissions by December 1, 2012 as well.
*The Provost's Scholars award is renewable for up to three additional years based on the student’s academic performance (refer to their award notification letter for renewal criteria). Students must be enrolled full-time to receive the award. Funding for the Provost's Scholars Program may come from many sources including the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association, the University of Chattanooga Foundation, and other institutional sources.
**We ask that you APPLY EARLY. Scholarship funds are limited and the awarding process is competitive. Meeting the eligibility requirements Does Not guarantee a student will receive a scholarship. The best way to improve your candidacy is to submit all required materials as soon as possible. Again, after being admitted, you must complete the UTC Online Scholarship Application to be considered for any scholarships.
