Chattanooga YES!
UTC is pleased to present the Chattanooga YES! Grant for First-Time Freshmen. Applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered for the $3000 per year award:
- Tennessee Resident
- Minimum 3.0 High School GPA and at least a 19 ACT (890 SAT)
- Demonstrated financial need as determined by the FAFSA
and who:
- File the FAFSA and Complete any Financial Aid Requirements by April 15, 2013
We strongly encourage First-Time Freshmen to apply with UTC Admissions when their 2013-2014 application is available August 15, 2012. The next step is to apply for scholarships within 3-5 days of their acceptance by UTC Admissions. Both applications are required for candidates to be considered for a scholarship. Since funding is limited, priority will be given to students who have a completed UTC Admissions file (application, $30 application fee, high school transcript, and ACT/SAT score) by December 1, 2012, even though the selection process does not begin until after April 15, 2013. Students' qualifying test scores/GPA must also be submitted to UTC Admissions by December 1, 2012 as well.
Please note: Applicants with Incomplete files (Admissions, FAFSA or Financial Aid) will not be considered.
*The Chattanooga YES! Grant is renewable for up to three additional years based on the student’s academic performance.
**We ask that you APPLY EARLY. Scholarship funds are limited and the awarding process is competitive. Meeting the eligibility requirements Does Not guarantee a student will receive a scholarship. The best way to improve your candidacy is to submit all required materials as soon as possible.
