New Tennessee Law requires UTC to verify citizenship status of newly admitted & re-admitted students

Effective October 1, 2012, Tennessee Law requires that the University verify citizenship or lawful presence for all newly admitted or readmitted students prior to receiving any state public benefit (including institutional scholarships). Students who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be exempted from submitting citizenship verification documentation. To learn more about the FAFSA, please visit www.fafsa.gov.

Please be aware that any institutional scholarship award for non-FAFSA filers will be contingent until all required documents to comply with this law have been submitted to Admissions. The award for students who do not comply with this request will be cancelled. Please contact the Scholarship Office for further clarification of this new State Law.
