Narrative:
The Chancellor serves as Chief Executive Officer for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and is responsible for leadership of the University in strategic planning and implementation of all programs. The UT President grants the Chancellor of UTC full authority to govern all aspects of the Chattanooga campus. UTC’s Chancellor has ultimate control of all fund-raising activities; he delegates the coordination of such activities to the Vice Chancellor for Development. The Vice Chancellor for Development reports directly to the Chancellor and has an obligation to coordinate fund-raising activities directed by the UT Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs. The action plan for the Office of Development for 2010 was approved by the Chancellor. Quarterly reports will be submitted to the Chancellor for his review.
The Office of Development, which reports to the Chancellor, is responsible for coordination of all fund-raising activities on the UTC campus to insure procedural consistency and appropriate documentation and to promote optimal fund-raising results consistent with the mission of the University. The Mission statement for the Development office states it will raise private support for UTC’s diverse priorities through enhanced communication, internal and external partnership, and solicitation of individuals, corporations, and foundations by skilled development officers working with academic and community volunteers.
