DANTES
GENERAL INFORMATION DANTES is a 90 minute computer based exam that allows college credit to be received for learning acquired outside the classroom from reading, on-the-job training, or independent study. On test day, a total of two hours will be required for exam administration and registration process. Each DANTES exam is $80, payable on test day to DANTES via credit card. A $25 non-refundable pre-registration fee payable to UTC is required prior to scheduling a DANTES exam.
TEST DATES DANTES exams will be administered by appointment only at UTC in Hooper Hall Room 205. (click HERE for directions to the testing center)
DIRECTIONS FOR PRE-REGISTRATION
- Completely fill out the attached registration form and indicate which DANTES test you will be taking on test day. Click HERE for registration form.
- Mail the registration form and a non-refundable check payable to UTC in the amount of $25.00 to the address on the registration form. Once your registration form and non-refundable fee are received, you will receive a phone call or email from the testing office to schedule a testing date. Once a test date is scheduled, a receipt confirmation and driving directions will be sent by return mail. Please note, if you need to reschedule for any reason, including arriving too late for your scheduled test or arriving without ID or test fee, you must pay a $25 rescheduling fee.
3. You must have the following items with you on the day of the test:
- Credit card for DANTES test fee
- Picture identification
TEST RESULTS: At the completion of the test, you will receive a printable copy of your exam results (unless you are taking an essay exam). An official score will be mailed to the school recipient within one week of the test administration.
