The U.S. Parole Commission is looking for Criminal Justice, 1st and 2nd year Law, and Business students interested in a variety of work.
-Law student duties include case preparation, responding to correspondence, filing, Freedom of Information (FOIA) and Privacy Act research, and drafting summaries in the Office of the USPC General Counsel's Office.
-Criminal Justice student duties include parole case processing, assisting in parole hearing activities, responding to correspondence from inmates, attorneys, family members and others in the Office of Case Operations or Case Services.
-Business students will have a variety of clerical work supporting the Office of the Chairman, the Executive Office or Information Technology Office.

Fall 2009............Academic Enhancement Staff Positions - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletic Department. The central component of the Office of Student Athlete Academic Support is to provide a high level of instructional assistance to students in order to increase the level of understanding and skills necessary to succeed in their courses. These services are provided free of charge to student athletes. Positions available include:
Learning Specialist: Coordinates and administers various aspects of learning assistance for first-time students and those students who need more structured environments to be successful; Learning Specialist are typically professionals from the local area who have backgrounds in Special Education or Education/School Psychology at the Master’s Level and beyond. The hours worked are primarily in the evening. The hourly rate is $12 and can range from 5-10 hours per week.
Content Specialist: Students needing assistance in the areas of math and writing/composition may require more intensive assistance may be assigned to a content specialist (Math Specialist, Writing Specialist, Reading Specialist). The Specialist has a level of expertise either from education or experience in the content area. The hours vary according to availability in the day and evening. The Hourly rate is $12-15 per hour and can range from 5-20 hours per week.
Academic Coach: This position serves a vital role in the academic mentoring of under prepared, motivationally at-risk, and special needs students. The role of the Academic Coach is to work individually with students to assist in the implementation of Individual Learning Plans, time management, study strategies, and assignment/test preparation. The academic coach may work on specific strategies to assist in the learning process and can refer students for content tutoring if more specific assistance is needed for a particular subject/course. This position has become one of high importance as we have seen tremendous success and results put in place for our pilot year in 07-08. AC’s pay range is $8 for undergraduate level/$10 for graduate students. Hours depend on availability and can range from 5-10 hours per week.
Content Tutor: Typically a peer who has proven to be successful in specific courses as an undergraduate student. Content Tutors meet individually and in small groups (2-3 students) to facilitate a specific educational subject or skill. Such one-on-one attention allows the tutor to improve the student's knowledge or skills outside the classroom setting. Tutors are not homework coaches, nor are they allowed to do the work for students. They are a key component in the attainment of information that students are having difficulty learning and should not be considered as someone who “makes me do my work” or who does the work for students to turn in. Some content tutors may be assigned to serve as ‘walk-in’ session tutors and will work a set schedule during the week. Pay rates range from $8-12 per hour depending on the subject and experience level of the tutor. Hours are flexible and range from 1-15 hours per week. We strive to have tutors for all subjects but cannot guarantee that we can provide content tutors in all subject areas.

The CCTV Division operates a central telephone answering service, and remote Monitoring Station that provides camera monitoring 24 hours per day, year round.
