Welcome to our Department. The facilities of our department are housed in three separate buildings,
two of which are within the main UTC campus, while the third is off campus. The Physics Program is housed
in Grote Hall on the 3rd floor and Geology Program is housed in Bretske Hall. The Observatory is located
4.5 miles east of campus at 10 Tuxedo Avenue, north of Brainerd Road and Belvoir Ave. We are dedicated to
excellence in undergraduate education of students in the areas of classical and environmental geology and
physics.
The Department of Physics, Geology, and Astronomy offers two degree programs for its majors: the B.S. in physics, and the B.S. in geology. The department also contributes to programs leading to degrees in other sciences, engineering, and paraprofessional areas. In addition, the department offers minors in geology, physics, and health physics.
