  • University-Industry Cooperative Research Programs in the Mathematical Sciences (UICRP): Technical innovations flourish through a symbiotic relationship between academia and industry. The mathematical sciences provide the foundation for the scientific progress that generates technical innovations. It is in the national interest to provide more opportunities for mathematical scientists to have the experience of conducting research in an industrial environment and for industrial scientists to return periodically to academia, to acquire new knowledge, and to move it efficiently into technology. The Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) supports this relationship through the university-industry postdoctoral research fellowships, university-industry senior research fellowships, industry-based graduate research assistantships, and industry-based graduate cooperative fellowships described in this solicitation.

  • Gang Prevention Youth Mentoring Programs: OJJDP seeks applicants to establish mentoring programs that offer a mixture of core services and engage youth with activities that enable them to practice healthy behaviors within a positive pro-social peer group. The target population should be youth at risk of gang activity, delinquency, and youth violence. This program should develop and strengthen protective factors against gang involvement and other problem behaviors. It can be based in a school or community setting. Successful applicants will include organizations, local school districts, and communities dealing with demonstrated gang problems who are a part of a communitywide strategy to combat gang activity.

  • Women Offenders: Gender Responsive Approaches to Risk and Need Assessment: Notice seeking, through a cooperative agreement award, to fund further support, development and dissemination of the Women's Risk and Need Assessment Instruments, which were developed via a cooperative agreement with a national university and include gender responsive assessments for use in institutional settings and community settings (probation, parole). Funds are available for tasks involved in ongoing support of jurisdictions seeking to fund: dissemination of materials and assessments to interested users; assistance to jurisdictions planning to implement the gender-responsive tools; assisting agency efforts to utilize the assessments; and conducting research to further validate and refine the assessment instruments.
