National League for Nursing (1/28/10)

  • Nursing Education Research Grants : Support rigorous, high-quality studies that contribute to the development of the science of nursing education.  Emphasis on studies that address innovations in clinical teaching & evaluation of clinical performances.  Priority will be given to projects involving multi-site data collection, those addressing the diversity of student populations, & those that allow for partnership between research mentors & proteges. Individual or institutional membership in NLNrequired. Up to $20K available per award.

NCAA Foundation (1/28/10)

  • CHOICES Program: Provides funding for colleges and universities to deliver challenging and meaningful alcohol education messages to entire campuses. Proposals must show adequacy in design, implementation and evaluation; collaboration among campus departments; research-based strategies; and continuation/expansion of program after NCAA funding. Eligibility limited to NCAA member institutions. Award amounts up to $30K over a three year period.

Sun Microsystems Foundation (1/28/10)

  • Academic Excellence Grants: Provides hardware to academic & research institutions for projects that address Sun Microsystem's priorities & create partnerships for success. Deliverables include integration of Sun technologies into undergraduate and graduate curricula; community development; localization of codes and development tools into languages other than English; outreach; and software development. Grants do not include maintenance, service, or technical support. Applications may be submittedonline & are reviewed throughout the year.

Dreyfus Foundation (1/28/10)

  • Teacher-Scholar Awards in Chemical Sciences: Teacher-Scholar awards support research& teaching careers of talented young faculty in chemical sciences. Camille Dreyfus awards provide $75,000 based on an independent body of scholarship & demonstrated commitment to education. Henry Dreyfus awards provide $60,000 based on accomplishment in scholarly research with undergraduates & compelling commitment to teaching. Limited submission: 1 application per institution.

American Historical Association (1/28/10)

  • Research Grants and Fellowships: Supports several small research grants ($1,000 and under) in the following areas: history of the Western hemisphere; colonial American history, with particular reference to the intercultural aspects of American and European relations; U.S. legal history and the field of law and society; & history of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Only AHA members are eligible to apply for these grants. Also supports three fellowship programs (one award per fellowship) in the areas of Innovations in Digital History, American History and Aeorspace History.

U.S. Department of Energy (1/28/10)

  • Faculty and Student Teams Program: FaST program will support a team comprised of one faculty member and up to three undergraduate students for hands-on research opportunities in DOE national labs during the summer. Faculty member identifies a mutually beneficial research area for collaboration with a laboratory scientist. Faculty from colleges and universities with limited research facilities and those institutions serving populations who are underrepresented in the fields of science, engineering, and technology are encouraged to apply.

  • Congressional Research Awards Program: Provides approximately 10 awards of up to $3,500 for original research on congressional leadership& the U.S. Congress. Supports political scientists, historians, biographers, scholars of public administration or American studies, & journalists. Research teams are eligible. Graduate students encouraged to apply for dissertation support.
