Department Mission
The mission of UTC's Department of Audit and Consulting Services is to provide the campus and system administration with objective, independent reviews of accounting, financial and other operational control applications in various departments and organizations. These reviews help assure the administration that the University's assets are adequately protected, the University entities are operating efficiently and effectively, and the University is in compliance with Federal, State and University regulations.

Campus Fraud Hotline
    (423) 425-4715

Please contact our office to report any fraud related information for UTC or any activity of the university.  If you wish, call after hours and leave a message at the tone.

Will It Be Confidential?
Yes!  We would like you to reveal who you are so we can ask follow-up questions, but that is entirely up to you. If you do identify yourself, we will make every effort possible to keep this information confidential.

State Comptroller's Fraud Hot-Line:
1-800-232-5454
Call this number to report fraud, waste, or abuse of funds, equipment, or resources at all state departments, agencies and any organization receiving state funds.  UTC is a state supported institution.  Fraud at the university can, therefore, be reported to the State Comptroller's Fraud Line.  However, since UTC has both Internal Audit and Law Enforcement functions on campus, fraud cases are usually investigated locally.  We are required to report our findings on fraud matters to the State Comptroller's Office.

What About Personnel Problems?
Don't call Audit and Consulting Services. These items should be handled by UTC Personnel Services (425-4221) or the UTC Affirmative Action Office (425-4124).
