UTC Graduate Student Research and Scholars Day 2008

Purpose

To celebrate the research, scholarship and creative endeavors of UTC graduate students.

Process

  • Submit a proposal to the UTC Graduate School by February 28, 2007
  • Submit completed project to the Graduate School by April 2, 2007
  • Present paper or poster on April 11, 2008
  • Attend Graduate Student Award Reception on April 18, 2007, to learn if your work wins

What work qualifies?

Because we have a rich variety of graduate programs on our campus, there are many different academic styles and traditions.  Essentially, GRSD exists to let students’ publicly present their work.  Some students will present research from their dissertation or thesis; others will present their major project; some may present a product developed during an internship; and, some will present their creative work including original poetry, short story or composition.   Group projects may also be submitted.

What are the rules?

  • The work primarily must be the work of UTC graduate students.  Your professor may help you edit, review the work and will certainly supervise some of the research.  However this is student driven competition. Faculty should not function as co-authors.
  • You release the work to be evaluated by two or more outside reviewers.
  • All UTC research protocol must be followed.
