For the second time in the last 5 years the Roland Hayes Concert Hall has played host the the Secondary Schools Competition of the annual Southeastern Theatre Conference. The Conference rotates throughout the southern states from year to year.

The Competition consists of 10 southeastern state winning high school theater productions that have passed through the ranks of their own state competitions. Over the 2 day span each of the 10 schools are given a small amount of load-in, rehearsal, and a production time. In the evening they present a full production for adjudication in front of a filled auditorium. The adjudication involves character interpretation and interaction, set and costume design and technical execution. They also ask for feedback. What worked and what were the challenges. The Awards are presented at the final night banquet for best and runner up productions. Also best actor and actress and a host of other awards are presented.
