Welcoming back a Patten audience favorite after a long hiatus, the UTC Fine Arts Center presents Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, the nation’s original jazz dance company. The company’s mixed repertory encompasses the broad spectrum of jazz dance while incorporating the distinct Giordano jazz dance tradition. A multi-ethnic company of ten athletic dancers, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago will entice one and all!

With works evoking emotion, the simple joy of movement and celebration, GJDC performances are uplifting, entertaining, and inspiring. The mixed repertoire reflects the distinct Giordano jazz tradition, today’s popular dances, and theatrical (show) dance.

For more than 40 years, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago has brought the excitement of American jazz dancing to audiences throughout the U. S. and around the world. GJDC serves as host performing company at each summer’s Jazz Dance World Congress, which has been held at the Kennedy Center in Washington , D.C. , at the University at Buffalo , in Japan , Germany , Mexico , Costa Rica , Phoenix , and Chicago .
