PATTEN PERFORMANCES
UTC FINE ARTS CENTER
The Patten Performances series was inaugurated by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1980 as the Dorothy Patten Fine Arts Series, in honor of one of Chattanooga’s most famous performing artists. Ms. Patten appeared in over 30 Broadway plays, countless touring and summer stock productions, television shows and the movie Botony Bay, with Alan Ladd and James Mason.
The series celebrated the opening of the then-new UTC Fine Arts Center and continues to bring nationally and internationally reknowned artists to the University community and the Chattanooga area. Over the years the Fine Arts Center has hosted the finest talent in music, dance and theater, including Dave Brubeck, Isaac Stern, Wynton Marsalis, The Acting Company, Pilobolus Dance, The Turtle Island String Quartet and Clark Terry, among many, many others. In keeping with our mission to present the highest quality artists available, this season includes performances from the Vienna Boys Choir, Mark Russell, the Punch Brothers and Chris Thile, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Ensemble Galilei, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, and Rik Reppe.
