Most scholarships are awarded to returning UTC students and transfer students who demonstrate strong academic achievement and proven need for financial assistance. There are, however, a number of scholarships based solely on academic achievement. Unless otherwise stated, currently enrolled and transfer students must submit a Continuing Student Scholarship Application by March 1 to compete for these scholarships.

Charles Foundation Scholarship

The Charles Foundation Scholarship is for Engineering and Education majors. Education students must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program or admitted to a graduate program in Education that includes certification. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 19, 2010. More information is available on the Charles Foundation website. Click here for Application Information.

Jimmy Jackson Memorial Scholarship

The Jimmy Jackson Memorial (UTC Alumni) Scholarship is for full-time juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated campus and community service. The deadline to apply for this scholarship was March 3, 2010.

Chemistry Scholars

The UTC Chemistry Department grants awards and chemistry scholarships to around 30 chemistry students each year, with a total annual value of over $45,000.

Special Qualification Scholars

These awards are typically given to those who live in a specific area, belong to a minority group, or are the children of the employees of a particular company. Please refer to the UTC catalog for a complete list of these scholarships.

Transfer Student Scholarships

Unless otherwise indicated, all transfer students may apply for scholarships with their application for admission to UTC. Deadlines for transfer scholarships vary. Click here for more information.
