One first-time entering transfer student from each community college listed below will be awarded a $2500 scholarship. The recipient from each school must be an active member in good standing with the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at their institution. Upon meeting continuation standards, the scholarship can be held for a maximum of four semesters. The student must enroll for the fall semester immediately following the completion of their work at the community college. The recipient must have completed 60 hours or earned an Associate's Degree by the time of enrollment at UTC.

Applicants for this scholarship must be admitted to UTC by March 1 prior to the fall term in which they intend to enroll. If more than one applicant meets all the requirements from a particular community college, the scholarship will be awarded to the student with the highest grade point average (GPA) as determined by UTC.

A total of five scholarships will be awarded each year to one student from each of the following institutions:

  • Chattanooga State Technical Community College
  • Cleveland State Community College
  • Motlow State Community College
  • Pellissippi State Community College
  • Roane State Community College

Consideration for this scholarship requires a separate application. Application may be obtained from either the UTC Admissions Office or the Financial Aid Office and must be completed by the applicant and the corresponding Phi Theta Kappa sponsor. A recommendation form must accompany the application.

Remember the deadline for being considered for a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is March 1, and the priority deadline for applying for financial aid is April 1.
