****You must be fully admitted to the University before financial aid will be processed.****

Steps to Apply - Application for Financial Aid/Scholarships - The FAFSA is the online application used to determine eligibility for all federal grants and student loans. It is also required for the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship. The FAFSA is available online January 1 and must be completed each year. The 2013-2014 FAFSA is the application for the following terms: Fall 2013, Spring 2014 and Summer 2014.

Types of Financial Aid Available - Review the different types of aid available (including the HOPE Scholarship) and requirements based on your admission status as an undergraduate, graduate, transfer or transient student.

Forms and Documents (Access forms requested by the Financial Aid Office) - Once your FAFSA is completed, you may be selected for a process called verification. If so, the Financial Aid Office will request additional documentation. You will be sent an e-mail to check your MyMocsNet account for any additional documents requested. Required forms and documents are also accessible through your MyMocsNet account.

Check your MyMocsNet Account - Through your MyMocsNet account, you can check your financial aid status, financial aid eligibility, email, billing, grades and HOPE attempted hours and GPA. Your UTC email is our primary means of communication with you. We recommend that you check your email daily.

Financial Aid Policies and Procedures/Standards to Receive Financial Aid Awards - You can access UTC's policies regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress; how enrollment changes and withdrawals can affect your financial aid; refund process; overawards and return of funds; summer financial aid process and review of the FAFSA and verification policy.

What do I need to do if I am leaving UTC?

Repaying your federal student loans - When it comes to repaying your student loans, you can choose from several repayment methods. If you fail to notify your loan servicer (company that handles the billing and other services for the Direct Loan Program and Federal Family Educational Loan Program), you will automatically be enrolled in the Standard Repayment Plan. Under the Standard Repayment Plan, you will pay the same monthly payment for 120 months (10 years). For more information on how to repay and where to repay your federal loans, please visit the Federal Student Aid website.
