Student Recreation Center
Status: Construction
Current Task:
Certificate of Occupancy granted 7/2. Punch list being worked off. Grand opening set planned for 8/18.
Student Recreation Center Natatorium
Status: Bidding
Current Task:
Construction documents complete, TFM office has approved plans. Pre-bid conference set for 7/23, opening 8/6.
New Library Building
Status: Design
Current Task:
Schematic design approved, architects in design/development phase. Soil sampling shows probable void that will determine foundation design. Considering an early release site package to get work underway in early 2010.
Metropolitan Building Renovation
Status: Construction
Current Task:
Renovation well underway with all wall construction complete. Awaiting HVAC equipment delivery in late August.
Grote Hall Renovation
Status: Construction
Current Task:
Asbestos abatement complete. Plans approved by TFM, bids opened in late May. Funding issue resolved, contract notice-to-proceed set for 7/20.
Electrical Distribution Upgrade, Phase II
Status: Construction
Current Task:
Project nearing completion. Change-over to new switches and transformers scheduled through the end of July. Secondary feed to campus on EPB schedule.
UC Student Services Renovation
Status: Construction
Current Task:
Bids opened with low bid for both floors approx. $150K over budget. Proceeding with ground floor build for Admissions. UT to disclose increased project costs. Upper floor Financial Aid space to be re-bid as a separate project.
Central Plant Boiler Replacement, Phase II
Status: Design
Current Task:
Construction documents nearly complete. New feed from Central Plant to go underground on east side of garage. Bid advertisement planned for August.
Scrappy Moore Field Improvements
Status: Design
Current Task:
Design for new drainage and partial synthetic turf well underway. Plan to have project bid and ready to start construction at the end of 2009 football season. Spending authority is $500k, Athletics would like to spend $300K.
Campus Entrance Improvements
Status: Design
Current Task:
Design underway, survey to be scheduled. Plan to complete full design for east side of Mabel Gateway and prepare schematics for other entry features at Vine/Houston and Oak/Houston.
Fletcher Hall Financial Center
Status: Design
Current Task:
Program for trading center in former Bursar space completed, preliminary designs presented to donor. To continue with design for Fletcher in Aug/Sept unless other location is eminent. Target construction start immediately following Spring 2010.
ADA Improvements, Phase III
Status: Programming
Current Task:
Balance noted with 2008 funds, additional funds may be available from 2009. Project programming must be determined working with Safety & Risk Management and ADA Committee.
