Time to Achieve...

Time to Achieve is UTC’s fundraising component as part of the UT system’s Campaign for Tennessee. Volunteer leaders include Brenda G. Lawson, who co-chairs the UT Campaign for Tennessee. Joining her in support of Chattanooga are Lewis Card, Jr., Fred Decosimo, Ruth Holmberg, and Scott Probasco, Jr., although additional campaign leaders will be recruited over the next three years. The $1billion Campaign for Tennessee has raised nearly $800,000 among the five campuses, and will conclude in 2011. And, as of the November, 2008 celebration to launch the public phase of UTC’s effort, more than $44million of its $65million campaign goal had already been raised. Gifts of stock and estate or deferred gifts, will augment cash gifts to bring “achievement” new meaning at UTC.

The notable goals of the Time to Achieve Campaign include:

  • Endowment for a new Honors College
  • A visiting writers, artists, and scholars endowment
  • Enhanced undergraduate research and international study opportunities
  • The establishment of a “Math Mall” in which students could complete their lower level math courses using special computer-based instruction
  • More nursing and physical therapy faculty
  • Updated facilities and equipment for the College of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Refurbishing interior office and operational spaces at McKenzie Arena
  • A new track and field complex, a football training facility, as well as a new golf practice facility
  • Student-athlete’s scholarships
