Program Objective
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Emerging Leaders Living Learning Community is designed to provide 46 students the opportunity to develop their own leadership skills. This program will not only provide practical leadership skills, but it will also provide students an opportunity to discover their own leadership potential.
The program participants will be housed on one floor of the Walker Apartments at UTC Place. They will all be enrolled in special leadership sections of Freshman Seminar (USTU 101) during the fall semester. In the spring, students will participate in a group service project.
Qualifications to Participate
- Entering UTC in the fall as a first-time freshman
- Minimum of a 3.25 high school GPA
- 23 ACT composite score
- Documented leadership in civic and student organizations
- Continued leadership experience during the freshman year at UTC

- $1500 scholarship ($750 per semester)

- Live in Walker Apartments
- Enroll in a Leadership section of Freshman Seminar (USTU 101)
- Attend six emerging leaders programs
- Participate in program for one academic year
- Attend leadership retreat
- Become an active member of the UTC community
- Stay in good standing and be a good role model to UTC community
