Chancellor’s Welcome
Welcome to the Office of the Chancellor at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Students, faculty, staff and administrators go out of their way every day to ensure that our visitors and prospective students feel at home here. In the many faces I see every day, especially those of students, there is an energy that is both welcoming and warm and unlike any other institution I know.
The Chattanooga community also contributes to this feeling of welcoming by providing its visitors and citizens with a big-city atmosphere while offering small-town hospitality. Because of these people and their dedication to making this place feel like home, we are able to call UTC one of the most unique metropolitan universities in the South. We are proud to be one of the special campuses recognized for our engagement in the community by the Carnegie Foundation for Education.
The University is home to approximately 10,000 students, and offers over 70 degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. UTC provides its students with some of the best apartment-style housing among southern colleges and universities. With in-state tuition of about $5000 for an academic year, the University educates its students for life in a global society at a reasonable and affordable access to higher education.
UTC has been ranked “Among the Best in the Nation,” by Princeton Review and in the top 40 among colleges in the south that offer master’s degrees by U.S. News and World Report’s annual “America’s Best Colleges.” Through the exceptional programs taught by our outstanding faculty, UTC upholds the philosophy chiseled in the very foundations of the campus, “We Shall Achieve.”
As you make your decision where to achieve your higher education goals, I ask that you take a moment to look around and consider making The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga part of your future. Plan a visit, drop by my office and introduce yourself, and allow UTC be a vital part of making your goals a reality.
Please take advantage of the information offered on the UTC homepage to help you in making your decision to join the UTC Family!
Sincerely,
