The Functions of the Center for Distance Learning
- To make recommendations to the Provost regarding
- requests from academic departments/programs to offer distance education courses and programs of study
- proposed use of distance education resources by non-instructional divisions of the University
- proposed institutional agreements that may directly or indirectly use distance education resources
- Maintain records related to distance education activities
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations
- Ensure compliance with University policies and guidelines
- To coordinate, facilitate, and otherwise support
- training for faculty to appropriately and effectively teach distance learning courses
- assessment of distance learning courses and programs of study
- provision of resources necessary to offer distance education courses
- advisement of prospective students who wish to enroll in distance education courses; assistance for students enrolled in distance education courses
- To promote the distance education program to potential students
