Kayak Lessons and Roll Practice - offered by UTC OutdoorsWhen: First and third Tuesday Nights Time: 7:00pm to 10:00pm Where: ARC Pool These classes are a great way to gain experience in kayaking. This one hour class will give you an introduction to kayaking. You will learn the basics if Kayaking; stroke concepts, equipment, self rescue and rolling. The classes are taught by UTC Outdoor's finest staff. Also by attending these classes you will be able to rent the equipment through our outdoor center in the ARC. |

Lifeguarding (Full Course) -Offered by the Continuing Education DepartmentCost is $125 to Continuing Education (additional $75 paid to the instructor the first night of class for course materials) To enroll in this course you must be at least 15 years old by the last class of the course. To participate in the course you must be able to swim 300 yards continuously and retrieve a 10 pound weight from 10 feet of water. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Course -Offered by the Continuing Education DepartmentCost is $125 paid to Continuing Education (additional $95 paid to the instructor the first night of class for course materials) Instructor candidates will learn to teach infant, preschool swim lessons, and all 7 levels of the learn to swim program, as well as community water safety and first aid. Must be 16 years old and able to swim all strokes.
