Chatt Town Throw Down Round II

The competition will be of redpoint format with 4 climbing categories. The categories are Recreational (beginner), Intermediate, Advanced, and Open. The competition will only include bouldering on the 60 brand new problems in the UTC Aquatics and Recreation Complex. Competitors will have at least 3 hours to put together a scorecard of their top 5 sends. Flashes and problems beyond the top 5 will only be considered in a tie breaking scenario. Trophies will be given for each category and sponsor swag will be raffled off for all competitors to win. This is also the regional CCS competition which means it is the culmination of the Appalachian region CCS schedule. Awards will also be given for overall season performance. At UTC, we pride ourselves on our ability to have fun at climbing competitions so be prepared for loud music, dancing, crazy rock climbs, awesome trophies, and one of the most fun climbing comps you've ever been to! The only rules are that you be safe, respect everybody, and have way too much fun.

SCC

The Southeastern Climbers Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to preserving climbing access in the Southeast. We started in 1993 when a group of climbers banded together to help out with ongoing access issues at Sunset Rock, atop Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The group had positive results from the start and went on to sponsor cleanups and trail days of climbing areas, raise money to purchase land and to keep climbing areas open for future generations. SCC volunteers are climbers from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina and the Ozarks who have joined forces to resolve local climbing access issues. The Southeastern Climbers Coalition aims to provide an ongoing means for climbers throughout the area to come together and respond effectively to access threats to crags, as well as the impacts of increasing use.
