Greetings,
Whether you are surfing or in search of specific information, I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the UTC College of Arts and Sciences. We hope that the site will provide at least a glimpse of the people, activities, and programs that make up the College. We include more than 250 full-time faculty, organized into seventeen academic departments, all of which offer bachelor's degrees. Seven of these departments also offer master's programs. Affiliated with the College are two major outreach units − a music conservatory and a center that supports integrative arts education in K-12 schools. In the fall of 2007 we added to the College a Department of Military Science with an Army ROTC program. Then in the fall of 2008 we began a major in Women's Studies. In 2010, with support from a Race to the Top grant, the College initiated UTeaChattanooga, a program that permits students to earn a bachelor's degree in mathematics or the natural sciences and also obtain teacher certification within a four-year curriculum.For a more eclectic look at College activities beyond these formal structures, try our College Programs link.
