Trisha Obear Memorial Tennis Tournament

The UTC Office of Alumni Affairs hosts an annual tennis tournament in memory of Trisha Obear, late wife of former UTC Chancellor Fred Obear.
Partial proceeds from the tournament go to the Jimmy Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund awards scholarships each year to rising UTC junior and senior students who demonstrate outstanding campus and community service. Partial proceeds will also benefit the Chattanooga Mocs Tennis program.
2009 Tournament Information
Location: UTC Village Courts & Racquet Center and Manker Patten Tennis Center
Date: Saturday, September 19, 2009
Time: 9:00am - 2:00pm
Registration Fee: $25
Includes t-shirt, tennis balls, refreshments, lunch, first and second
place trophies and several door prizes. Registration deadline

Playing Style:
Round robin mixer - Doubles Play only (players will be paired with one advanced and one novice player and rotate team mates each match)
Mens & Womens Divisions
Novice: 2.5 - 3.0 playing level
Advanced: 3.5 & up
Each player will play 5 rounds of 8 games per match. After each 8-game set players will record the number of winning games at the scorer's table. The top two player from each division after all 5 rounds will compete in the finals.
Also make sure to register to play in the 2009 Homecoming Golf Tournament, to be held on Friday, Septembre 26, 2009.
