Alumni Profile - Pam Ross

Dr. Pamela Ross enjoyed a close relationship with faculty during her undergraduate experience at UTC.

In July 2004, Dr. Ross was promoted to Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine & Pediatrics. Before this promotion, she served as the Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Virginia Hospital and director of the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Ross participated in undergraduate research when she took organic chemistry with Dr. Thomas Waddell. Their work resulted in the paper “Chemistry of 3,4-Epoxy Alcohols. Fragmentation Reactions,” which appeared in the Journal of Organic Chemistry. “Dr. Waddell was an excellent mentor and provided the highest quality research integrity and examples for me to learn from and follow. The work was sometimes tedious and even frustrating, but the principles of perseverance and integrity, with as much repetition as necessary to do something correctly, engrained in me the value of character required to generate a great research project,” Ross said.
