Admission

Adults who wish to pursue bachelors' degrees at UTC may come into the Adult Services Center and fill out Undergraduate Admission Applications and pay the $30 admission application fees.  These applications will be sent to Undergraduate Admissions for processing and the students will be notified regarding their admission status by that office.  The application can also be completed online and transmitted electronically to the Undergraduate Admission Office.  It is the responsibility of the applicants to ask their high schools and all colleges/universities which they have attended to send official transcripts directly to the UTC Undergraduate Admissions Office.  A high school equivalency diploma will be accepted in place of high school diploma if the applicant has scored at least a 45 on the General Education Development (GED) test.  Students over the age of 21 do not need to submit ACT or SAT scores.

Adults who have already completed bachelors' degrees and wish to return to pursue second bachelors' degrees will go through the Adult Services Center for the admission process.  A Post-Baccalaureate Admission Application should be filled out and submitted to Adult Services with the $30 application fee.  Applicants must also request their high school transcript as well as a transcript from each college/university they attended.  These official transcripts should be sent to The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Adult Services,  Dept. 2002, 615 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN  37403.  Once all transcripts have been received, Adult Services will evaluate all undergraduate transfer coursework, admit the student, and send the student a letter of admission and copy of the transcript evaluations.

Adult students who have been away from UTC for one semester or more, but did not enroll in classes at another institution during the period they were away, and are in good academic standing, may reapply and be readmitted in Adult Services.
