Violations

Abuse of UTC policies or standards, abuse of UTC Technology Resources, or abuse of other sites through the use of UTC Technology Resources may result in termination of access, disciplinary review, expulsion, termination of employment, legal action, and/or other appropriate disciplinary action.

Notification will be made to the appropriate UTC office, e.g., Human Resources, Academic Personnel, Student Honor Court, Student Development, UT General Counsel, UTC Police, or local and federal law enforcement agencies.

System administrators and designated security officers will, when necessary, work with other University offices such as the UTC Dean of Students, UTC Police, schools’ and colleges’ disciplinary councils, UT General Counsel, Human Resources, Academic Personnel, and others in the resolution of security incidents.

The UTC Information Security Officer or designee will follow standard procedures, as established and approved by the UTC IT Advisory Council, for isolating and/or disconnecting systems from the network while assessing any suspected or reported security incident in order to minimize risk to the rest of the UTC Technology Resources. In the event of a legal investigation, the University reserves the right to isolate the system to preserve evidence during investigation by law enforcement agencies.
