Chattanooga Active Living Summit: A Global Persepctive

BikerSummit Goals

The goals of the Chattanooga Active Living Summit are:

  • To convene and network Chattanooga area active living professionals and policy makers
  • To increase the capacity of participants to integrate evidence-based strategies at the informational, behavioral, social, and environmental/ policy levels to promote and support active living
  • To identify active living strategies affecting Chattanooga residents and their families where they live, work, and learn.

Summit Objectives

By the end of the summit participants will be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between physical activity/active living and health outcomes from a global/international perspective
  • Make use of public health data and scientific information as tools in developing and prioritizing community-based active living interventions
  • Make use of evidence-based and promising practice methods for implementing community-based physical activity interventions and communicating physical activity messages
  • Understand Active Living principles applied to specific settings and people
  • Understand and establish an active living coalition of leadership for community-based active living interventions in the greater Chattanooga area

The cost to participate is free unless you want to apply for Continuing Education Units. The cost of the summit is underwritten by a grant through the University of Chattanooga Foundation.

Registration is required and limited to the first 300 registrants. Download the registration form (pdf).

Continuing Education Units

One CEU is awarded for each 10 contact hours of classroom participation (or equivalent). All CEUs earned through The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga non-degree programs become part of your permanent record. Cost for one CEU is $10.00.

All registrations for CEUs must be pre-paid. Make checks for $10 payable to: UTC Continuing Education and submit with registration form (pdf).

Active Living Expo

This will allow attendees to bring materials about their programs and services for display and networking—one display table per exhibitor.
