University Honors

Curriculum

The University Honors curriculum is a 37-hour sequence of specially designed and enhanced seminar courses in the humanities, the fine arts, cultural perspectives, the history of science, and the social sciences, culminating in a senior-year departmental honors project. These seminars fulfill all of the student's general education course requirements except mathematics and laboratory science. For more information on which UHON courses fulfill various gen. ed. categories, see UHON and Gen. Ed.

Advanced Placement (AP) credit does not replace any required UHON course, but is accepted by the University and awarded appropriate credit toward the required number of hours for a degree. For information about specific equivalencies, see AP Credit.

The table at right shows the required core curriculum for all full members of the UHON program. The sequence of courses may be varied if necessary to accommodate requirements in the major. Each student should consult a UHON advisor about scheduling of UHON courses.
