Student Profile - Manuel Bernal


"The humanities part of the curriculum offered for UHON students has challenged my science-driven mind and has provided me with new perspectives otherwise not found in textbooks. UHON has given me access to countless opportunities that have enhanced my college career. Having access to all the resources and perks provided by the program has made my college career, thus far, a GREAT experience!"

 

Manuel is a senior majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. He is Vice President of the biology honor society and secretary of Mortar Board. He has volunteered in HIV awareness programs with Chattanooga CARES. He currently works as an Emergency Dept. Scribe at Memorial Hospital and is conducting research at UTC with Dr. Margaret Kovach on gene mutations in myelin protein. He is a graduate of St. Benedict at Auburndale High School.
