PRAXIS EXAMS
If you fall under the checkpoints you can apply for apprentice teaching, but you cannot register or receive a placement until you have provided documentation that you have passed all required PRAXIS exams for your licensure. Scores must be received by UTC at least 3 weeks prior to the start of apprentice teaching.
PRAXIS II REQUIREMENTS FOR TENNESSEE LICENSURE 2011-2012
Beginning teachers in all content areas must take and pass one of the "Principles of Learning and Teaching" (PLT) exams. Also required are content tests. For UTeaChattanooga students (secondary education), these tests are listed below according to content area.
