Biography
Margery Weber Bensey was born on May 4, 1952. Bensey graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1971, went on to undergraduate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she received her B.A. in 1984, and continued at UTK to earn her Master's in Literature in 1989. She is a writer at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was managing editor of two biweekly campus publications and teaches writing and word processing to university employees. Bensey was a writer, editor, researcher, and writing teacher for 25 years before retiring in 2007. She continues to write, writing for The Record among others, and she also serves as editor for the Blackberry Corner, The Inkwell, and The Parkridge Press. Her poem, "The Youth," was included in Breathing the Same Air: An East Tennessee Anthology. Bensey continues to make Knoxville her home and is actively involved with the Parkridge Community of Knoxville.
