Dr. Guo is a medical anthropologist specializing in Chinese medicine & health traditions; community health, culture & mental health, disability & health, Asian American study and cross-cultural aging & health. Currently he is a UC Foundation Professor of Anthropology at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.<

Dr. Guo received the certificate of training in Chinese medicine in 2003 from China Academy of Traditional Medicine.

Before Dr. Guo joined University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he served as lecturer at Harvard Medical School, and the director of Clinical Studies at New England School of Acupuncture.

He received the Ph.D. degree in Anthropology from Univerity of Connecticut in 1994.
